The canary blenny is an example of the fanged blenny. Unlike many of the other species of blenny popular in the hobby the canary blenny possesses a swim bladder and is an open water swimmer. Like all fang blennies the canary has small venomous fangs in its mouth that it uses to defend itself from predators. It is exceptionally rare for them to pose a threat to humans in captivity or not.
